Cuckfield comedy night

Comedy night by Cuckfield local fundraiser

A group of local comedians have joined forces and are planning a special night of laughter in support of Pancreatic Cancer UK to help raise funds and awareness of the disease.

The charity comedy night has been organised by local fundraiser Louise Henderson and her comedian friend Anna Shears, who are bringing together a host of talented performers from the nearby area, including Burgess Hill, Brighton and Seaford.

The event promises an evening of entertainment showcasing local comedy talent, with an open bar for guests to enjoy a drink before the show begins.

Alongside providing a platform for emerging comedians, the evening has a personal purpose for Louise as she is fundraising for Pancreatic Cancer UK ahead of running the London Marathon next April.

Pancreatic cancer remains an underfunded area of cancer research, receiving just three per cent of the UK’s total cancer research budget. It can be difficult to diagnose and treat, making greater awareness of the signs and symptoms crucial in helping people receive an earlier diagnosis.

November is Pancreatic Cancer Awareness Month, with World Pancreatic Cancer Day falling on 21st November this year, making the event particularly timely.

Louise and Anna hope the evening will not only raise money for research but also encourage more people to learn about the disease and recognise its warning signs.

“This night is a chance for the local community to come together for a fun-packed evening with some of the best up-and-coming local stars, while raising money for a cause close to my heart,” said Louise.
