The premises that only opened a few weeks ago is once again under the care of Ilyas Alloualida and his brother Yusaf, who moved into the old Lloyds Pharmacy building temporarily, following its closure at the end of 2023.
The brothers have since returned to the village, but to a new, more convenient location on the High Street. After almost 18 months away, their aim is to continue providing the same high-quality level of service, expertise and loyalty to the whole community as they did before.
Ilyas who has a master’s in Pharmacy from the University of Hertfordshire said: “It’s been over a year since we left the old business, and now that we’re back, people seem to be very happy that the chemist is open again. We’ve been here for less than a month and already we’re seeing some of our old customers, and the residents have been coming in to tell us how pleased they are to have somewhere to collect their medicine again. We still need to do a little bit of work to the interior, but I think the position of the shop is much better than where we were before. We’re right in the middle of the High Street now and people are popping in all the time, which is really encouraging, given that they’ve not had access to one locally for such a long time.”
Cuckfield Chemist is open from 9am to 6pm Monday - Friday and from 9am to 1pm on Saturdays.
