Under cover of autumnal gloom diggers and dozers moved onto a corner of Staplefield Common and were soon hard at work.
Their mission was to remove the old swings and roundabouts and install a brand new £35,000 children’s play area as speedily as possible.
For some years the popular facility had been suffering from drainage issues, like much of the common and the equipment was almost life-expired.
Ansty & Staplefield Parish Clerk, Sarah Abellan said: “We are delighted to get this vital work done, although it’s been a bit of a challenge with the rainy weather.
“But we will now have a well-designed new play area, that’s fit for purpose and can be enjoyed by children for decades to come.”
