10th birthday for Cuckfield Village Show

Organisers of this year’s Village Show are hoping for a bumper crop of entries to mark the 10th anniversary of the popular event.
Jo Roche, who started the event when she was 8 months pregnant and has been at the helm ever since, is delighted that the show has now become a regular fixture in Cuckfield’s calender.
“I’m really excited that the village show has reached its 10th birthday,” she said. “It’s always been about getting as many as possible to enter the various classes and categories. Remember, you don’t have to enter them all; many enter just one or two classes.”
She added that new ‘under fives’ classes have been added to encourage younger children to participate.
For adults, there’s the ever popular flower, fruit, vegetable and cookery classes, along with a floral art competition for men with a Rugby World Cup theme, a ‘selfie’ photograph class and craft competitions for wooden items, soft toys and cushions.
Many villagers have already contributed to this year’s event by helping to make special bunting being put together by Philip and Seb from Sussex Crafts. There’s still time to make a flag to add to the bunting. Call in at the shop for more details or visit www.cuckfield.org, where you’ll also find information about how to enter this year’s show.
The Cuckfield Society Village Show starts at 2pm at Cuckfield Park on Saturday 12th September.
